The latest failures on my 88 9000s (I have 2 of them) are failures of the headlight control relays. There are 2 on each car and all 4 have failed within the last year. When the large rectangular one fails the high beams won't come on. When the smaller, square one fails, and you drop to low beams, the LIGHTS GO OFF !!! The world safest car becomes a nightmare on wheels !! After this relay failure, I went to a Saab dealer today to get a replacement and was told it is $104 !!!!! I think this is a serious design flaw that should result in a recall of the car. Saab parts prices are an absolute outrage. They are at least 3-4 times what they should be. Bad enough that they influenced me to buy an Acura this year instead of another Saab, although there are still 4 Saabs in the family. Do you think I am justified in taking my argument to Saab Headquarters and asking, as a minimum, for the relays to be replaced? Do you have any experience or heard any stories, good or bad, about others who have tried to reason with the executives there? Lastly, do you have a phone number, address, URL of Saab Hq in the US ? Thanks Rick resnopsamil.att.com
