I asked the same question on the turbo! list (the listserv e-mail list of
Saab enthusiasts).  The recommendation I got was for Spreen's Saab in
Hackensack, NJ (7 miles from Manhattan off of Route 4).  Will be taking my
new (to me) '93 900 Turbo in there next week for it's 35K major service.

If anyone has any other suggestions (good non-dealer Saab shops in NYC),
I'd also like to hear about them.
