Subject: oil leak in 84 SAAB 900T

I have recently found a rupture in the warm air return hose (correct name?) the corrugated steel pipe in the front of the engine, just behind the radiator. The car has since (one week) leaked approximately 1 quart of oil. Should there be oil in this hose in the first place? What can the cause be if there shouldn't be oil in a hose made for warm air? Any answers, ideas, or questions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you, Jason Butler
