I have a 1987 900i, I sometimes have problems changing down from 3rd gear to second gear, this seems to occur only at speeds in excess of 40 kmh , it simply will not go into 2nd and makes all sorts of horrible grinding sounds. Whereas below 30kmh it is smooth as silk. Does anyne have any ideas as to what this might be. Is my synchromesh on the way out?.
