Hi all, I own a 1995 SAAB 900 SE Turbo. I bought it used and it did not have the CD-Changer installed in the trunk. I would like to install a CD-Changer now. I have called my local SAAB Dealer in Sacramento California, and the "SAAB" changer costs $590! I am not going to pay this much for a 6-Disc Changer, when I understand that a normal aftermarket changer (Kenwood, Sony, Etc.) costs around $250-$300. Are there any special brands that fit the SAAB 900? I also have another question concerning the wiring to the trunk in the SAAB. Where can I get access to the wires in the trunk that run up to the dash. I have looked but there is only one opening that allows access to the rear lights to change the bulbs. Where are the wires? Are there special holes already drilled to mount the changer to? Or do I have to drill the holes myself? The only reason I can't have the dealer do this is because my nearest dealer is in Sacramento, California and I live in Reno, Nevada. This poses a problem, so I am looking to install the changer myself. Any information will be appreciated!
