Subject: shifting gears on a 900S

Hi, I just bought a 900 S from 1991, it is a 5 speed, and I have a question...it tells me when to shift, but generally I can "feel" when I should do it-- my question is, why does it want me to be in 2d gear at 15 MPH, in 3d gear at 25 MPH, and 4th gear at 35 MPH and etc? I mean I have driven other 5 speed cars and it was never like that! Generally I am used to shorting to 4th gear around 40-45? Have I been doing it wrong all these years? Is this normal for a Saab? Is something weird about my transmission? Just wondering- Thanks-any advice would be appreciated- you may email me privately... Sarah SMOSKOWnopsamCOM
