I purchased a '97 900 SE Turbo in August. I tried to go in prepared also, although I was not as prepared as you were. After talking with the dealer and hearing about incentives I didn't know existed (with interest at 2.9% price is X, with interest at 7.9% price is Y) and then having to deal about my trade-in '91 Camry, I figured--- OK, he is making me an offer, if I am happy with the price, accept the offer. I signed. My personal feeling is that these companies have to make a living, too. You might get them to sell at just a few dollars over what they paid for the car, but there is going to be a really good reason for them to be selling at that price. Isn't it like walking into a grocery and offering to buy the ham for a nickel more than they paid for it?
