Subject: Gas and Lights and Stuff

I don't know if I'm crazy or not, but I tried puting 89 octane in instead of the cheap stuff and on my '88 900s automatic, the gears seem to shift less jerky. Am I nuts and sill they shift even nicer at even higher octanes or am I wasting my money? Oh, one more thing. The light that tell you what gear you're in.......is out. It used to show the wrong selection anyway, for example, in drive, it would show that you were in second gear. Now the light doesn't work at all. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks. evan '88 900S
