Well, the dealer invoice and the destination cost is 29361 plus some misc dealer cost related to books, tank o'gas and stuff so I imagine somewhere around 29,500? How can they sell 'em for 28500? Well if its a cash deal they get 1500 back from Saab I think thru December. If its financed the financing is somewhere around 3.9% but the 1500 does not get back to the dealer.. I heard that you'd have to lay down at least 17k and get a conventional loan at 8% or so AND get the 1500 factory rebate to get ahead on the deal. So if Barney the Dino or got the deal at 28500, I would guess the dealer made 500 profit on the deal. Not to good for a 30k car. I am dependant on sales for a living and don't have a problem with a 5% mark-up. I mean these guys gotta eat too. I just hope I am not missing something here 'cause I just drove my 98 900SE home tonight. So if the guy makes 5% on a 29500 investment (dealer) or about 14 hundred dollars, somehow I feel thats legitimate.
