This is also an area that you can throw away a lot of money fooling around. find someone that really knows what he is doing and let them take a look at it. This trans was very prone to getting the front pan crushed in against the filter. This happened going over a bump too fast or hitting a parking lot barrier. If the pan looks like it has been pushed in you can start by removing it and bending it back. Check the filter for damage. If this helps, you may have lucked out. If not I would recommend a rebuilt from Erickson Industries rather than one from Saab. Cheaper and more reliable then having someone local rebuild it. Pat v valleaupnopsamet
