Subject: Some '87 9000T Questions

I just purchased an '87 9000T with 81K miles in prime condition - only several minor fixes to deal with - I just replaced the CV boots (outers had surface cracks) and the oil sending unit (minor leaking), and I may have to replace the vale cover gasket (leaking) and the bushings in the torque bar attached to the top of the engine (appears to be cracked or broken). There is another probem that I need more information on - the idle surges when cold, and then idles high after warm-up. The car has a Saab performance chip upgrade and performance suspension upgrade (both of which I could use more information about). I have heard that the ECU may need to be upgraded in order to get rid of the idle surge problem - does anyone have any insight into this problem? Also, the shift lever seems to move around a bit (not a lot) during acceleration and deceleration - is that normal for this car? Zman
