Sorry, JK. What I should have said is "we Americans..." While I'm not yet computer-literate enough to recognize from your address that you're German, your reference to your Saab as a 900i16 did suggest to me that you were corresponding from Europe, as that model designation has not to my knowledge been used in the U.S. I confess to being one of the Americans I'm chiding, eschewing snow tires in favor of all-season radials. I did well in Chicago on Dunlops, but Chicago, while it has some harsh winter weather, is virtually all straight, all flat, and all plowed. I'm now in the Washington, D.C. area, where weather is milder, but it's neither flat, nor straight, nor plowed. Michael
