Is this your father's problem, too, or does his defroster work for a few minutes before shutting itself off? The latter case is one of normal operation. I don't know how long Saabs have been this way, but the defrosters do shut off after about 9 minutes or 11 minutes or something (it's an odd number of minutes, in any case). This is to prevent the rear windscreen from getting too hot if someone engages the defroster and just forgets about it. Roxi
