Kevin- I won't run a lawn mower on anything but synthetic oil, so you know my 85 900T is running AMSOIL. Before putting on the bypass filter, I changed oil filter at 5K, oil and filter at 10K, based on oil analysis which showed the AMSOIL good for at least that long. Synthetic will run cooler, reduce wear, start better in cold weather, and maybe even get you a few extra miles out of a tankful of gas. If you don't (or won't) use AMSOIL, Mobil 1 is an excellent second choice. Also put synthetic in the gear box. Dick in Falls Church, VA Using and selling aMSOIL (First in Synthetics) over 20 years
