Subject: Check engine light

This group managed to solve a heater valve leak so I thought I'd try this one... I have a 1991 900S in which the check engine light will come on at odd times - generally during acceleration from a stop light, but not with any regularity. Occasionally, when decelerating in gear, the UPSHIFT light will start flashing and when it does the engine will stall. Restarting generally clears the problem for a while. The local SAAB dealer said it checked out OK and there was nothing wrong - needless to say I won't be going back there again! I was thinking vacuum problem since the UPSHIFT indicator is (I believe) drive by that. Since everything checks out on the computer (according to SAAB) I was thinking maybe the computer is the problem. Other opinions gladly accepted.
