I have a 1988 900S automatic. From what I've heard, these transmissions just suck. Mine shifts hard especially in cold weather and at first in the cold weather, it doesn't have much power and doesnt' seem to want to shift out of first gear. I've noticed that if you drive the car easier, it will lessen the shifting pain. Don't put the petal to the metal. It'll give you indigestion when the car shifts.
