Hi, I just bought my first Saab: '86 900 Turbo, 114k 3dr auto I bought from it from the original owner, who kept it garaged, and apparently in immaculate condition, with records, serviced at dealer every 3,750 miles etc. I had the car inspected at SAABTech in Chicago, and it checked out fine. However, I'm curious about engine noise (or transmission?): when idling I can hear (and slightly feel) a rhythmic vibration coming from behind the firewall in front of my feet. I asked the original owner about it (he seemed to be a honest straight up guy - but, hey, he obviously has a vested interest!), and he said that's the noise it always makes, he has inquired about it at the dealer a couple of times, and they reported it as fairly common, nothing to worry about. Anyone have any ideas as to what this might be? Have other owners with this model and year experienced the samething? Is my transmission ready to fall crashing to the pavement? Thanks for any help, Kevin kevin_gilbertnopsamleoburnett.com ps, any other advice on care and feeding of this car would be greatly appreciated!
