Pop both a pillar trim pieces off. Three clips under them hold them. Remove three screws in each front speaker grill. Lift out the grills. Do not lose either the alarm led on the left side or the solar sensor on the right side if equipped or their wiring. Remove the rubber inserts under the grills so I doesn't get lost. There are two screws and one 8 mm headed bolts under each speaker grill holding the top, remove them. On the right side, open the glove box, locate and remove a rubber stopper toward the left top of the glove box. there is a screw behind it, remove it. On later model cars there is a screw under the instrument cluster opening about 2/3 of the way to the center of the car. It goes upward into the dash top. Remove it. Lift the dash top up from the front and pull it toward you. Set it aside. It has a clip that attaches to a cable on some cars, make sure you replace the cable in the clips when reassembling. Behind and at the top corners of the instrument cluster are two screws, remove them. It is best to disconnect the negative battery cable when removing the instrument cluster, the electronics are delicate and misinserting a harness connector could cause damage. Disconnect the wiring. Disconnect the speedo cable on early cars and the turbo gauge vacuum line on turbo cars. Don't forget to hook these back up. Lift the instrument cluster up and out. There are two rubber 'feet' on the lower tabs of the cluster. They tend to fall off on removal. Watch for and retrieve these or the cluster will rattle and vibrate if you put it back without them. I recommend replacing all the bulbs while the cluster is out. Some of these are specialized bulbs, and you may have trouble finding them anywhere but a dealer. Others of them are real common. It'll make you mad to have it all out and then have another bulb go bad next week. The EDU bulbs just turn out of the EDU at the bottom of the cluster.
