Subject: Airbag/horn problem in '96 9000

A 1996 9000 CS was involved in an accident in which the airbag deployed. After the airbad was replaced, the horn became very difficult to operate; you had to press very hard on the airbag area to beep it. We went back to the bodyshop, which generally does excellent work. After conferring with the Saab dealer, they decided that somehow the steering wheel had become damaged in the accident, so they replaced it. Now the horn beeps easily (as when new) in three out of 4 corners; it's still very hard to operate in the upper right corner. The bodyshop is baffled, dealer service doesn't know what's wrong and is looking into the problem. I thought I'd ask the Saab Sherlocks on this list to try and solve this problem. I would appreciate any suggestions (and please email them to me as well as posting them). Peter Peter M.
