Would my local PepBoys :-) carry a sample kit to mail in? I've been having to top off the coolant (around 1 cup every month or so) for around 1/2 year now on our '88 9000T. There is a very faint whiff of antifreeze smell in the passenger cabin on startup, only when the car is already warm, that dissapates within several seconds. No windshield fogging. The driver's side carpet appears damp all the time (car is parked indoors, no rain to speak of lately), however there is no evidence of a leak from above, e.g., heater core area. Could this be due to condensation? Where would the condensate be coming from? I must admit to not having checked carefully (sheet of paper under the car when parking to aid detection) for antifreeze leaks, so that can't be ruled out yet.
