A few of questions: : (1) It starts kind of hard in cold weather and doesn't want to keep : running until it warms up a little. Sound like a bad cold start valve, or : thermal switch? My wife's had this problem. There is a switch on top of the engine with two wires attached to it (with fast-on connectors). In my wife's car, what ever that switch activates, seems to not be working correctly. The way it works is that when the car is cold the switch is closed connecting what ever it is that does something in cold weather (how's that for tech talk?). Once the car warms up this switch opens up and disconnects "whatever." I simply unplugged her switch and it has worked fine since. I never bothered to find out what it runs since what ever it is only works for the first few minutes and then is not needed anymore, so maybe her car runs a little richer or something for a few minutes until it warms up. Anyway, the easiest check is to start the car. Then when it starts bucking and going to stall, unplug one wire from the switch, if it stops you are probably on to it. Plug it back in and the car should start to buck and stall again. Keep in mind, this switch is not the problem (it's doing exactly what it is supposed to), but what ever the switch activates is what is not working right. : (3) My son has an older BMW and joined this BMW club which publishes a : magazine called Roundel. Is there a similar organization for SAAB : enthusiasts? How about web pages? Try the SAAB Network at http://www.saabnet.com/tsn.html There is also a magazine called "The Nines" that is for SAAB fans and tinkers. You can find info on subscribing at the SAAb Network site I just mentioned. Finally there are lots of sites and the best way to start would be to jump to my web page (listed below) go into the "misc stuff" section and there you will find a link to the SAAB WebRing that will link you to other SAAB web pages.
