It was not clear from your description if the coolant level continuously drops slowly or if you just filled it up once. If you have to fill it every now and then you probably have a leak in one of the seals. If you can, elevate the car and use a torch light to check for a small leak between the block and cylinder head etc. Can be hard to find...
