Subject: Cracked leather on a 95???

I have a 95 900S Convertible. While I am not a fanatic I do take quite good care of my cars. Anyway, yesterday while getting into the car I noticed that the leather on the lower side bolster of the driver's seat has lots of small cracks and lines. You know, like the type old dried out leather gets. The car is a 95 with 30,000 miles on it and is garage kept. Also the rest of leather on the seat as well as all other seats is supple and looks brand new. What is going on here? Is this a product defect? Any ideas? While I do use the car with the top down a lot, I never leave it in the sun with the top down for more than 15 minutes (when I am not driving it). The section that is bad, does not get any sun with the top up, or with me in the car. Thus I can't believe it would be from over exposure to the sun. If it is why hasn't anything shown up anywhere else? There are other areas that get a lot more sun. Rob rteichmanopsamog.net
