Subject: Re: Bypass Oil Filter worth it?

Thanks for the reply on this one as well. I'm in the process of installing the single kit...found a nice place to mount it...bolting it to the metal battery box... I had Pep Boys install the Amsoil 0w-30 and Amsoil full flow filter last night...definitely worth the $ 12 labor. I'll be hooking up the supply and return hoses tonight. I want to talk to an engineer at our company (former mechanic and racer) about where to connect the return line. Since both the oil pan and the valve cover are cast, I don't want to use the self-tapping hollow bolt...I'll remove one or the other and drill. Or, I might see what kind of fitting I might be able to reliably connect to the oil filler tube. I've got my first oil check kit. I'll plan to do a baseline test at 5,000 or 10,000 and then gradually increase the interval. -- John Womer
