My 87 9000S did the same, when I bought it in December. My friend
cleaned the throttle plate, reset the basic idle and adjusted the
throttle positioning switch. If you don't know how, go two
www.saabnet.com and read the FAQ on setting the basic idle. Mine runs
like silk now.
