Let's face it. For those who have had your cars for awhile. The achiles heel of Saabs is their transmissions. That's the component that needs to be checked out thoroughly before buying. Mine, a '90 turbo 900, was rebuilt at about 60K. I bought it with 100K knowing that it was rebuilt, and even then, I had it checked out by my Saab shop. Speaking of service, that's another thing I've noted in these threads; the concern everyone has about getting servicing from only a smattering of dealers. I'd dump the dealers and find a good independent garage specializing in Saabs. I go to such a shop and know of others in the geographic area. If you live in a large metropolitan area, which is where you're likely to find Saab dealers anyway, you're likely to find a place that either works exclusively on Saabs, or at least specializes in them. Happy motoring, Mike Z.
