Subject: Vacuum Lines in '87 900s

I recently bought an '87 900s fuel injected 5 spd. Its idling at around 1700 rpm. When I got it checked out the mechanic said that the vacuum line to the fuel regulator was missing and there were other vacuum lines disconnected. He thought that fixing this might help the high idle. I've been trying to fix it but I have neither car skills nor knowledge of saabs and the Haynes manual is no help. What am I looking for? I mean is the fuel regulator called something else or is it plainly obvious? What does the regulator need to be attached to? and where are the other vacuum lines? The only other question is whether or not disconnecting these lines may have been to alleviate some larger problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
