Subject: Sonett questions.

I recently aquired a 1971 Sonett III in pretty good shape. The knob for the free-wheel is missing. I don't know it the gearbox is original or not: Where should the linkage for the freewheel engage/disengage have gone? I have the engine shop manual for a 96 and parts of the tranny shop book but I would really like to find a full shop book for the Sonnets. I've heard rumors that the Ford V-4 used in vintage Saabs is more common in tractors than cars in the USA. Can anybody confirm this and if so what modle tractors? Are all of the engine parts interchangeable? The clutch is supposidly fairly new, but the car has set for years and the clutch is frozen: Any suggestions? While calling around for parts I found a Sonett II V-4 that is supposed to be in great shape except the front end is missing from an accident. I think it's going to be towed here (sight-unseen) next week. If it looks as good as it sounds I'll be looking for a front end for it: Anybody know where I can find one? Thanks. -->paul -- ==>paul One man's pasture is another one's future.
