Hi, I've just been reading the various comments etc on washing saab soft tops. Don't wash the car in a car wash - The manual says not to and I believe it! My saab convertible has been covered from new with some kind of silicon protective coating, the purpose of which is to protect the body and hood from bird lime etc. As a result, when water hits the hood it just runs straight off taking the dirt with it. The hood always looks good and is a pleasure to clean. The coating also causes the hood to dry very quickly from wet. For someone living in the UK this is quite a bonus!
