It may be that you slightly infringed the 'Golden rule' of car buying -"For any given model, steer clear of the first year's production". My car is due up for renewal later this year and I have test driven the 9-5 2.0t automatic. I thought it was a most impressive car and a huge improvement(in terms of ride) over Saabs of old. My only complaint was the excessive road noise from the 215/55 low profile tyres on the SE version I tested which more or less cancelled out the smooth, refined engine. I now have to try out the standard car with 205/65 tyres, which should in theory solve the problem, and restore the 9-5 to pole position on my shortlist. David Fleming
