Well there are always exceptions. I've recently bought an 87 900 base and admittedly had to spend about $800 on it (on an $1800 buying price) but it's a great car. It's got 126K on the clock (and has had for at least 9 months!) Original tranny, no weird noises, goes well. I'm looking forward to buying another Saab in 1 1/2 years when I move back to the UK.
