There is a good chance it could be the ECU for the automatic belts. This
past December I looked at an 87 900S to replace the one I wrecked. My
old one had the manual belts. The one I looked at had the automatic
belts, but they were not working. The guy selling the car was a mechanic
at a Saab dealer in Northern VA. He told me the ECU needed to be
replaced. Apparently there was a problem with the ECUs and the auto
belts. Saab went back to the manual belts. I did not buy that 87 900S. I
bought an 87 9000S instead. I like it much better.
