Tim, I'm not sure if your's is turbo or not, but if the manual and dealer say use regular, 87 octane, then use that as long as the car runs well. You will hear a lot about the APC and knock sensors, but the fact is the computer rules. If you use gas with too high an octane rating example, premium 93, your engine will carbon up quickly and won't run as well. I had an 83 900T. I ran premium in that car. When I moved on to an 87 900S 16V 5spd, I tried to use premium (Amoco), but the car ran like a dog. I switched to mid-grade 89 octane, and the car ran like silk. I use mid-grade in my current 87 9000S. The oil companies make plenty of money. Heaven forbid you should not use premium and one the corporate executive's kids had to go to a community college instead of Harvard or Yale. Ken Washington 87 9000S
