This is exactly the problem I had (see posting last week) on my 9000S. No manual says what four flashes of the check engine light means. But after my experience it is the engine management system noting a fault and triggering the flash -in my case it also triggered a Get You Home engine pattern which made my 9000 run like a 1.1 Ford Fiesta. The problem was tracked (by a Saab dealer) to the Engine Knock Sensor mounted on the back (?) of the block. They took it off, cleaned it up, put it back and that was 20k miles ago....Hope this helps you In article <35663CCD.4F970F77nopsamns.net>, Ken Muth <kmuthnopsamns.net> writes >Dave- >I have an '87 Saab 9000S and I have the same problem.
