WOW sorry to hear what rotten luck you had with you convertible. You are not going to like this, but I have a 95 900S convertible, that has only one of your problems (slight water leak, but only in a car wash). As I bought the car because it was a convertible, I put the top down and up several times a day (during nice weather). I will even drop the top for a 5 minute drive, and then put it up while it is parked. I had no problems with the top at all (did you get the recall work done?). My shifter has been fine, and I haven't had a single screw come loose. This is my 3rd Saab and I did notice that problems seem to die down after a while. So hopefully your problems will end soon.
