I have a 1994 900S that I have come to appreciate more and more as time goes by. Despite its "first year" problems - all easily and cheerfully fixed by the dealer under warranty - it has proven to be solid, fun, comfortable, and easily the best balanced automobile I've ever owned. Now that it has depreciated in value, I couldn't imagine another car in its class giving such great value and pleasure, and I'll keep it until the final mile. I think that the greatest used car value out there is in used Saabs; here in Arizona they are vastly undervalued and I try to steer my friends in the market toward them. Unfortunately, they're scared off by the "reputation" for unreliabilty, which seems to be contradicted by the hundreds of 80's models still routinely cruising the streets and highways around here, many, many of them with 100K or 200K miles on the odometer. Additionally, and this is something that I wish other manufacturers would consider, Saabs are among very few autos that can accomodate taller drivers. My 900 is the first automobile since a 1965 Triumph TR4 in which I don't drive with the seat all the way back. Amazing! I've driven Mercedes 2-seaters and BMWs that must be targeted to the Napoleans of the world because though only 6'2", I was hunched, bunched, and crunched. Remarkable!
