First of all, there is no : "S" after the 900 on the tail. The dealers assure me it's an "S" : because of the factory sunroof. Saab dropped the old 8V line at some point. I don't recall when exactly, but I think it was roughly 89-91 or so. The 16 valve models (aka "S" models) became the base model and the "S" was dropped. Does the badging on the back of the car say "16 valve" on it? : The other things that set it apart are: : everywere there should be chrome (around windows, door handle, wheel : well), it is black. Someone might have changed it? I know around the windshield and around the back window, you have that chrome under rubber which as the cars get older the "chrome" starts to rust and eventually turns all black under the rubber. Both my car and my wife's (both 1988 models) have done this. But I am not sure about the chrome around the side windows and such. : Also the air outlets on the rear sides are not : flush with the side; and on the tail, where the license plate is, : instead of being black, it's a red reflector from tail light to tail : light. No clue on this one, sorry! Patrick Timlin http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/4742/ ptimlinnopsamities.com
