Hello all .. I have a 95 saab 900 (30K miles) and this past weekend, while trying to go up a hill with stop and go traffic for about five minutes, I noticed smoke coming out of my hood. I immediately stopped the car and then got it towed to the nearest dealer. The dealer claims that the clutch has got burnt and has asked me to replace it (the clutch slips now and the car is at the dealership). The saab warranty also doesnt cover the 900$ to replace it. I suspect that there was something wrong with the clutch to start with. I have been driving stick shift for last ten years (not saabs though) and this is the first time it has happened to me. Does someone has any clue why this might have happened so early in its life? I noticed some engine oil also dripping just below the clutch assembly.
