My '85 900 finally got to the point where it is no longer cost-effective to repair. Now I have to figure out a way to get rid of it. Any ideas or experiences in this facet of Saab ownership? The gearbox is ginding, 5th gear is out, engine marginal (may need new valve, needs new valve cover gasket), tires worn, clutch pedal shot. Paint needs compounding, badges are faded. New battery, good body (some rust at door drain holes), solid frame, handles(d) great, newish shocks and headlamps. The dealer I bought my shiny Chevy S-10 pickup from (ugh, I know, needed a truck though..), didn't want it. I won't have enough in deductions this year to make it profitable to donate to charity. So what the heck should I do with it? In Baltimore, any known Saab doctors who would have use for an '85 900 carcass? NO parts have been stripped so far, but I am open to offers and ideas! If nothing else I would like to get a few hundred for the whole, battery alone should be worth $50.. only 3-4 months old. Bill, in Baltimore.
