Hi! >I was actually starting to think along the same lines, maybe drop in a large >V8 chevy engine or something...... >I will keep everybody posted on how this brainwave is going to ramble on.... Yeah the single carb motor was a bit underpowered in the 900, it was better suited to the 99. I've had 110mph outta my '82 99 GL (100HP). A SB chevy motor drops in quite easily. There's a bloke who races a black V8 900 combi in the Nothern England street car challenge, does the quarter in 11 sec! 500 cubic inches and rear drive! Don't know what its like off the track though.. I'm happy with my '84 118bhp 900 GLi, better than the (cat) US spec anyway. A turbo would be nice, but at my age (24) the insurance is too much. Also if you add a turbo you'll end up paying more than the real thing, insurance companys hate modded cars. Christian Baillies <chrisbnopsamdy.mew.co.uk> <chrisb1273nopsamcom>
