Matt, I have an 87 9000S I bought this past December. Mine had an idle and stalling problem, until my friend checked my vaccum lines, cleaned my throttle plate assembly, reset the basic idle and adjusted the throttle position switch. My 87 9000S runs like a symphony. The other things you might check are your AIC valve, and if your cylinders, valves and pistons are a bit carboned up, it would not hurt to run a bottle of the ProGuard or Techron Cleanup through the gas tank. A can of Berryman B-12 Chemtool will do the trick too. This week end I just drove 575 miles on 18.17 gallons. That is 31.64 mpg for the total trip. The first day, Friday, included using the A/C from Maryland to the first service area on the NJ Turnpike, and local driving on Staten Island. Today a side trip through Pennsylvania and back home averaged 34.61 mpg, 8.87 gallons for 307 miles. I love my Saab. Mine is a 5 speed. Ken Washington Upper Marlboro, MD
