I had a '94 V-6 -- I traded it in on a '98 900S Turbo. It is a great engine when it is running -- great low-end torque, and will rev to the ignition cutout at 6300 RPM without complaint. OTOH, its longevity is suspect because of the 30,000 mile timing belt change requirement. After the 95K mile mark, it will get significantly more expensive to keep on the road. The mech at my local Saab shop also told me they consider it a 100,000 mile engine, instead of a 250,000 mile engine like the 2 liter 4. OTOH, the market value of the V-6 is low enough that you can pick up a used one for a good price. --------------------- John R. Weiss Seattle, WA Remove *NOSPAM* from address for e-mail reply Lee J.
