I have an 87 9000S and my Saab tech friend has an 87 9000T. Your temperature guage should not be at the 3/4 position all the time. Mine stays at midpoint or just below in this warmer weather, until I stop at a light. Then it will go to the 3/4 mark, but come back down once I am driving again. This is without the A/C on. You need to make sure your main cooling fan is kicking. Just after Mother's Day, I noticed mine overheated in traffic. A couple of days later I discovered one of the wires for the thermostatic switch was loose. As soon as I reattached it, the overheating problem was gone. You may need to flush your system. If you flush your system, change the thermostat and thermostatic cooling switch for the fan to 82 degrees celcius and yours still overheats, you will need to replace your radiator.
