Subject: Question re: Turbo Heat Shield (from a non-SAABer)

Hi all, If this is too off-topic for this newsgroup please accept my apologies in advance. I have a general question for you. I have a Miata which I have turbocharged. I just completed the addition of a Saab blow-off valve and intercooler (courtesy of a mail order Saab auto-dismantler). I'm curious about what Saab uses for heat shielding around the turbo. Is there a heat shield of some sort, a heat blanket, or do they just insulate the hood? I've fabricated a heat shield for mine but would like to redo it. You don't find too many Saabs in the scrapyards here in Texas, so I don't have any easy way of finding one to look at. That's why I am asking the question here. Thanks and regards, Jerry wellborn AT onramp DOT net
