In contrast, when I have had batteries fail in cold wheather, which is more common, they simply seem to die altogether. Five cells are enough to crank the engine, albeit slowly, but the starter load drags the voltage down so its not likely to start. Check the voltage of the battery. My 94 CSE has a digital voltmeter as part of the on board "calculator". Good luck
