Hi, I have been Saab sitting an 85' 9000T 4 Door for a friend who went on travel. I have done some work on the car (replaced the starter) but am more of a Chevy/Ford man and have no Saab manual. I am trying to get one. The problem: About 15 seconds after I start the car, the fuse marked A/C & Fan blows. The fuse is rated at 25 amps and makes a very nice blue flash - I have watched it several times. I read the owners manual and it says there will be a delay before the A/C kicks on to prevent loading down the engine. I assume there is a time-delay relay somewhere in the electrical system. I have already tried disconnecting the compressor clutch to see if that was the problem - same blue flash. Any ideas? I pulled the plastic covers that are below the windshield (air intake covers) and found the computer on the drivers side of the car, the fan motor in the center and a strange black device to the extreme left of the Air Conditioner coils. This device has a 4 pin electrical connector on one end and a couple of hoses that connect to the other. One of the hoses heads off towards the fan area and ends mysteriously by the a brass colored sensor that seems to go to the turbo. Any idea where the end of the hose should go? I assume it should connect to something and not just lay there. Any help would be appreciated. Dan is coming back home August first and I would like to have a fully functional Saab parked in his garage. Thanks In Advance, Rick Santina santinanopsam.com
