If your ignition system is working properly, it sounds like you may have a fuel problem. I have an 87 9000S 5 spd I bought this past December. When I first got it, mine idle would stumble, sputter and the engine would stop on deceleration. My Saabtech friend cleaned the throttle plate assembly, checked my vaccum lines and reset the basic idle and throttle position switch. The car smoothed right out. I live in Maryland. Here Pep Boys carries the Berryman B-12 Chemtool products. Try a bottle or can of the Berryman Max Strength Injector and Valve cleaner. It will clean your injectors and fuel system as well as take care of moisture in the system. Then it may be time to change your fuel filter. If it has never been done, it could be a problem.
