I bought a torque wrench right after I saw an Autoweek show that said
the reason most brake discs warp is because of the use of air hammers
to put the lug nuts back on. You're right, it's not a SAAB specific
complaint, and though I'm sure some mechanics do this on purpose, I
suspect that the real reason is that they don't have the time to do
the job properly, and can get away with it, as most customers have no
clue what's going on at the shop.
