Subject: Re: Saab 9000 won't start

I'm still having my starting problem - there are now a bunch of us with heat related starting problems. My attention to this has been delayed because of ANOTHER starting problem which resulted in the purchase of a new fuel pump ($375.00 groan!) At least I installed myself and probably saved $ 200.00 more. My son has driven my Saab a few times and the hot start problem happened to him too. He told me to hold the big rubber head of the key on the edges when you turn it (it must torque the key more or something) and it will start when it doesn't want to. I have taken his advice 2 times this last week when the car wouldn't start and it worked. It could be coincidence, but it got me out of a hot spot literally. It's no fun sitting in the 90+ degree heat waiting for your darn car to start. I'm still leaning toward the alarm system lock out as the culprit. It does seem to start every time after 20 minutes have passed to the minute, but that's a long 20 minutes! If anybody has an update on this, please post to the group.
