I don't know why you have so much trouble doing an oil change. I have an 87 9000s. I buy my own oil and filter, Castrol/Fram, and have my local Amoco do the oil change. I have watched everyone since I bought the car and they never have a problem with the oil drain crankcase bolt or the oil filter. For the filter they have an extended filter wrench that fits up and around the filter. They use an orange Permatex around the drain plug, and I have no leaks. To get your old one out you may have to use a pair of vise grips. I would get a replacement plug first. Ken Washington 87 9000S Upper Marlboro, MD
